Netgear WNDR4500 is designed to create a fast and branched home network, which focuses on working with streaming video 3D and HD and resource-intensive games with several participants. Also, perhaps, this router will interest those who use Wi-Fi video cameras, for example, for a security system of a country house or a small protected facility.
We will begin to analyze the capabilities of the Netgear WNDR4500 with speed characteristics. The wireless part of the router supports the work of Wi-Fi networks standard IEEE 802.11 b / g / n 2.4 GHz and IEEE 802.11 a / n 5.0 GHz, with a theoretical total connection speed of up to 900 Mbit / s (450 on each channel, respectively). The Netgear WNDR4500 arsenal has four LAN ports and one WAN with a gigabit data rate. Two USB-ports of the router enable the implementation of the functions of the print server and the connection of external drives for the purpose of organizing network storage with DLNA support.
A distinctive feature of the Netgear WNDR4500 is the presence of six internal antennas (three for each channel), while in the Netgear WNR4000 model there are five (two for the 2.4 GHz band and three for the 5 GHz band). Due to this the manufacturer claims such high speeds of operation, and due to their special configuration, also about the larger coverage area of WiFi.
The Netgear WNDR4500 router runs on a 600 MHz processor (BCM4706), has 128 MB of RAM and 128 MB of flash memory.
Like many modern routers, Netgear WNDR4500 supports connection to the provider over Ethernet with fixed IP, dynamic IP, received via DHCP, and connection using PPTP, L2TP, PPPoE.
In addition, the Netgear WNDR4500 has some functionality, which I would like to dwell on in more detail.
